I've seen this movie couple of weeks ago and all i can say after watching the movie is that it managed to keep your eyes on the screen and win your heart from the first minute until the end. I think i am well understand the conflict that the author tried to say..The feeling of hope ~ "There is a way to be good again"
And again, the story has its own good strength since "friendship" is the main focus after all. Read here for the synopsis.
However, it raised some issues with regard to the 'controversial scene' that showed in the movie and has been critically condemn and been banned in country like Afganistan. Something that you should know - banding movies is not a new issue in several Islamic countries like Afganistan and other middle Easts'. . They are used to do that to protect the sensitivity of the people there. The attack scene in the movie - where the boy was raped by another from different community- is deemed to be as an ethically orientated. Thus, they said it cannot be accepted.

Malaysia may be one of the country that refused to screen it because i didn't see any cinema promoting the movie nor advertise it to the public . None of them. I managed to get the DVD from my brother with the help of his friend.
Since the movie was adopted from the book (the book was released 4 years before the movie and was the 3rd best seller for 2005 in the U.S), i cannot give any comment on it unless i read the book with the visual perception so i know which one is better. The movie or the book.
Same thing goes to Ayat-ayat Cinta. Some said, its wonderful to see from the scene, but some said not. My friend Ridha who is an Indonesian, consult me not to watch the movie if i already read the book. He has the DVD but refuse to give me, weird him! The reason is simple - it is not as good as written in the book. Until now, i didn't have chance to watch it. But, i will one day.
After all, i enjoy the kite runner movie as much as i enjoy my Cornetto ice cream and Pizza hut while watching ..Haha
