Hasbunallahu wa nekma wakeel

We have lost our beloved friend and brother, Al Shaheed Obaida Mahir Al-Qudsi. For those who do not know, Obaida was one of IIUM student who passed away last Sunday after weeks of suffering from Israeli bullet wounds.

Obaida, was on his way to perform prayers at the Abraham Mosque in the Old City of Hebron when the Israeli soldiers shot him and left him bleeding before taking him to the hospital. He died after suffering from being denied to access proper medical treatment. He was left bleeding for 30 minutes after being shot and the ambulance vehicle were banned from attending his blood body. Even worse, they repeatedly beat him senseless. He spent about 3 weeks in Israeli hospital, was in comma and his family were not allowed to see him until his last breath.

On 13th September, his pure soul departed to its Creator. May his soul departed through the mercy of Allah SWT. Rest in peace my dear friend!

p/s: Obaida was one of very active member of Al-Aqsa Friends' Society and was also elected to the main board in 2003. Furthermore, from 2003 till 2007, he led the famous Al-Aqsa Nasyeed Group in IIUM. For those who know him, will always remember his beautiful voice and lovely character. Also, his loud voice concerning on Ummatic issues and Palestinian rights. He had a life of fulfillment and has gained his true destiny. What about us?
